"Where do we even begin??!! Perhaps a little background first. We had a wedding completely planned for our son and his fiancé, in Pittsburgh, on June 20, 2020. By May 1st we knew our 300 guest wedding needed to be cancelled. Patrick and Moriah were adamant about getting married on June 20, a date that meant a lot to them. Honestly I didn’t think we could pull anything substantial off. But they were willing to make sacrifices and so we started to plan. You were recommended to us and WOW!!!! We were so blessed. Not only did you help us plan and execute the most intimate, beautiful, special wedding, but you gave us so many other suggestions and ideas. I can not even begin to thank you for all of your hard work. You rented us more than I thought possible. Everything was in immaculate shape. We rented two tents from you and each was perfect and unique for the ceremony and reception. Your staff was more than professional, prompt and hard working. About Us

Our Start

Windswept Entertainment and Events was established in 1991 under the name Windswept Adventures. Windswept Adventures began as a hot air balloon ride company flying passengers through the Laurel Highlands region allowing them to enjoy the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.

Windswept was honored to have one of the largest Balloon Fleets east of the Mississippi. All flights came complete with valet service, continental breakfast with champagne toast upon landing. Birthdays, unique engagements, anniversaries and weddings were commonly celebrated high over rural Western Pennsylvania. Windswept Adventures was dedicated to giving all of its passengers a first class experience.                           

In 1992 Windswept was approached by Giant Eagle Corporation to help design and create a Giant Eagle Hot Air Balloon to use over certain venues and grand openings. The Giant Eagle Balloon was seen flying over and around much of Western Pennsylvania and made several appearances over the Three Rivers Stadium during sporting events.

Windswept was also privileged to fly for several other local and national companies competing and placing in many balloon rallies including the Three Rivers Regatta, Canton Hall of Fame rally and many others from 1992 to 2000.   


In response to our customers' advertising needs, in 1993 Windswept Adventures began a massive evolution by adding further promotional items to our inventory and eventually changing the company's name to Windswept Promotions. Before long Windswept Promotions was helping its clients to draw crowds into retail locations and major events with promotional items such as cold air advertising balloons for roofs, searchlights, and air puppets. Soon after Banner machines were added to print custom banners and signage for events.                            

By 1994 Windswept began to see a new wave of entertainment in the inflatable industry and was eager to incorporate inflatables to help entertain its customers. Working closely with our existing advertising balloon manufacturer Windswept was able to introduce these new phenomena to company picnics, school fun days, sporting venues, community days and birthday celebrations.                            

Over the next couple of years Windswept Promotions stopped flying hot air balloons and dedicated itself to becoming the one company in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas where corporate and private customers alike could hire Windswept to create their entire event.

In order to accomplish this Windswept had to again expand its product line by adding a party rental division that carried:

  • Tents
  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • Linens
  • Dishware
  • Portable sanitation trailers
  • Staging, custom lighting
  • Party planners                      

In October of 2005 Windswept acquired a local entertainment booking agency and Windswept Promotions became Windswept Entertainment and Events.

With over 300 entertainers on our roster of Musician, Magicians, Clowns, Jugglers, Singers, Characters, Stiltwakers, Princess Characters, Temporary Airbrush Tattoo Artists, Face Painters, Balloon Artists and many more Windswept was truly able to handle all facets of any event in the Pittsburgh region.
